JORDAN GOES BACK TO SCHOOL
The next two Jordan retro releases will carry a distinctly academic flavor, as both will celebrate schools that shaped Michael Jordan as a basketball player and a man. First up is the Air Jordan 14 Retro Low "Laney", named in honor of Emsley A. Laney High School, where Mike first rose to basketball prominence. Sporting the Laney High colors, the kicks pair Ferrari 550M design cues with royal blue nubuck, black mesh and a combination of white and yellow accents throughout. The low profile cut makes these shoes seem even more like a sports car, as does the Pirelli tire inspired rubber tread on the heel.
Next week we get a shout out to MJ's college alma mater with the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "UNC". Retroed for the first time in their original high form, although there have been several mids, KOs, and lows which have worked this colorway, the "UNC" 1's keep it clean and simple echoing the Carolina colors with a premium leather upper in white with powder blue overlays. The remastered pair holds true to the OG design, from the Nike Air tag on the nylon tongue to the "Wings" logo on the ankle. Thanks to Jordan Brand, we can look forward to going back to school for once.
