There are some sneakers that are cultural touchstones, sneakers that have a relevance and style that defies time and trends. These are shoes that seem like they have always been here, fashion staples on par with denim jeans and the little black dress. You know what they are, sneakers like the Nike Air Force 1, Converse Chuck Taylor All Star, Adidas Shell Toe Superstar, and other kicks that you always see people rocking year after year. For my money though, there is one classic sneak that rises above the rest and transcends mere footwear fashion to become a cultural bellwether of cool: the Puma Suede. This year the Puma Suede celebrates its 45th anniversary, and we at City Blue would like to commemorate this milestone with a little "kickstory" lesson on one of the most indelible pieces of footwear of all time.

Puma and their brand ambassador, rapper  Meek Mill, are back with another collaboration. Hot on the heels of this winter's "24 White Gold Pack" comes the "Patent Pack", a low top Basket and a high top Challenge decked out in - you guessed it - patent leather. First up is the Basket Classic, with a sleek black patent leather upper with a black formstripe and black branding. Red laces and a red sole add vibrancy while also nodding toward the "Bred" colorways that seem to be rolling out of Beaverton on every other sillouhette these days. This weekend sees the latest collaboration between Philly favorite (and fresh out the joint) Meek Mill and Puma, and are they ever keeping it 100 with this one. The Puma x Meek Mill "White Gold Pack" features a Puma Suede Mid decked out in distressed gold suede with metallic gold on the formstripe and heel tab, and distressed silver suede with a metallic formstripe of the same color for the low version.
