On a little island in the middle of New York harbor stands a 151 foot tall green lady called the Statue of Liberty. A gift from France 130 years ago, the statue was designed as a representation of freedom, and served as a landmark welcoming immigrants to the new world in the early part of the twentieth century. For this year's NBA All Star game in Madison Square Garden, Jordan Brand is unveiling a brand new colorway of the Air Jordan 10 to welcome everyone to the festivities in NYC: the Air Jordan 10 Retro "Lady Liberty".
Paying direct homage to the famous statue, the "Lady Liberty" boasts a premium leather upper in a Dusty Metallic finish, giving it a slightly aged look like the statue itself. The midsole has a concrete-like gray with black speckles, reminiscent of the many sidewalks in the city that never sleeps. Black rounds out the upper at the ankle, tongue, and mudguard, while a gold Jumpman on the heel shines like the big girl's torch. Tropical Teal, looking very close to the color of the oxidized bronze in which the statue is cast, finishes off the look in the inner lining as well as on the stripes of the outsole in a dark to light gradient going from the heel to the toe. To paraphrase the famous poem that is inscribed on the statue's base: "Give me your tired, your poor, and your brand new Retro Jordans!"
