In a career full of defining moments, this was one of his biggest. When Michael Jordan stepped onto the Madison Square Garden court on March 29, 1995 it was far from certain that he was still the best basketball player in the world. This was his fifth game back from an almost two year layoff in which he vainly pursued a baseball career in the dusty minor league stadiums of the Southern League. He wasn't even allowed to don his signature 23 jersey, as the Bulls had retired his number the previous season. Who was this man with number 45 on his back and white, black, and red Air Jordan 10's on his feet? Could he still take over a game? 55 points and a last second victory later the answer was clear: he was His Airness, Michael Jordan, still the best in the world.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of that game Jordan Brand has remastered the shoes that were on MJ's feet that night. The Air Jordan 10 Retro "Double Nickel", so named for the 55 points he scored, has an upper constructed of premium tumbled leather in white and black supported by a black midsole. True Red is visible on the inner lining as well as the signature stripes on the outsole. A red 45 on the outer ankle reminds us of the brief time Michael wore that number and the incongruity of seeing vintage MJ without his vintage number. These 10's are definitely a vintage number that you should not be without.
